Features & Capabilities of Hikvision Turbo HD CCTV Camera DVR

Hikvision DS-7204HQHI-K1 is one of the Turbo HD DVR systems in the DS-7200HQHI-K1 Series. The recorder is the smallest version of all the three recorders in the lineup, which means you also get half of the features available.

  • Connect Analog or IP CCTV Camera

The Turbo HD recorder is a 4-channel system, half the version of Hikvision DS-7208HQHI-K1. It has four analog channels, compatible with various types of analog CCTV cameras, including HDTVI, AHD, CVI, or CVBS.

Furthermore, the DVR supports IP network cameras if you’d like to watch your property in crispier detail. The default IP channel is only one. However, you can switch the four analog video ports into IP channels. And this allows you to use five network cameras (6 cameras with “Enhanced IP mode” on).

  • Monitor Your Property in 2K or 3K Super-HD

The Hikvision DVR is compatible with up to 4MP analog CCTV cameras. 4MP has a native resolution of 2460 x 1440, almost twice that of a CCTV in Full HD (1080p). But the recorder can only encode the analog video signal up to 4MP lite (1280 x 1440) resolution.

If you’d like to watch your property in crispier detail, the IP channel accepts up to 6MP network cameras. 6MP is a native resolution of 3072 x 2048 or 3K Super-HD, which delivers vivid images- three times 1080p quality.

Note: IP cameras deliver sharp images since the video they send to the recorder is already processed/ encoded into digital format. Analog cameras rely on the recorder to encode the “analog” video signal to digital.

  • View the CCTV Camera DVR on 4K TV

Hikvision has designed the Turbo HD DVR with three video outputs: HDMI, VGA, and CVBS. HDMI is the best of all, as you can hook up to a 4K TV/ monitor of 3840 × 2160. Thus, making it possible to watch your 6MP network CCTV camera on wide display while still maintaining rich clarity.

You can also watch your lower resolution cameras (2MP/ 720p) on the Ultra-HD monitor. However, the monitor will upscale the images, which ends up losing a couple of pixels/ picture details.

  • Record in Crystal 4MP Lite Video Resolution

While you can connect a 4MP (analog) CCTV camera, the Turbo HD digital video record records up to 4MP Lite resolution. The video records in 4MP Lite/ 3MP/ 1080p resolution at a frame rate of 15fps.

To get a much smoother recording, you’ll have to opt for 1080p Lite, 720p, and other lower resolutions with 30fps.

  • Smart Motion Detection & Remote Alerts

Hikvision Turbo HD DVR supports multiple VCA (video content analytics) to give you alerts or recordings that matter. The VCA features consist of perimeter protection, with line crossing detection and intrusion detection.

By default, the smart detection features are limited to only two channels of either analog cameras, IP cameras, or both. However, you can enable the “Enhanced VCA mode” of the recorder to increase the perimeter protection to four channels.

  • Hikvision 4 Channel DVR Price

The Hikvision 4 channel DVR price is currently Ksh 6,000 to 10,000, depending on the product series and dealer. Like the Hikvision Turbo HD 1080p DVR costs Ksh 8,000 at our shop on regular days.

The DVR model is about Ksh 2,000 more than the Hikvision 4-Channel Turbo HD 1080p Lite DVR. But this shouldn’t be surprising, considering the 1080p model has more features and capabilities than the 1080p Lite model.
